St. Francis Borgia, his Jesuits, and the spooks owls of old Florida.

Ave Maria! May Our Lady de la Leche, the Immaculate Queen of Florida, bless us with her loving Child, and together with St. Joseph, St. Augustine, and St. Francis Borgia, pray for us. Today is the feast of Saint Francis Borgia, a holy Jesuit father who was appointed by St. Ignacios of Loyola as the superior of the Jesuits in Spain. Many are unaware that he was also the superior of the Florida missions from 1566 until 1572. His Jesuit missions would fail in a series of brutal martyrdoms and the cross that is the Florida missions would be handed off to the Franciscan order. The Jesuits would suffer tremendously for the conversion of Florida. The first Jesuit to be Martyred in the New World, was Father Pedro Martinez in Florida. Father Martinez would suffer his martyrdom near What is today Jacksonville. Today, we are going to discuss Father Martinez, a disciple of today’s saint, and what his martyrdom can teach us about the modern enemies of the faith.

North eastern Florida at the time of Father Martinez’ martyrdom.

In 1513, Florida was claimed by Spain and later explorers would further that claim but none were able to establish a lasting settlement until St. Augustine in 1565. However, during this time, French Protestants called Huguenots had also been attempting to settle Florida. In 1564, these Huguenots had been exploring Northeastern Florida and creating alliances with the local Indians. In 1564, under the Protestant Jean Ribault, the Huguenots built Fort Caroline at mouth of St. John’s river. The Spanish response was swift and decisive, a Spanish force under Pedro Menéndez established a settlement, St. Augustine, and launched an attack on the Huguenots. During the attack, Ribault himself was headed by sea to attack  St. Augustine but was blown off course by a storm. The Spanish force attacked, Fort Caroline, captured the survivors of the attack and executed all the men. The survivors of Ribault’s forces were likewise captured and executed. Though some of them fled into the swamps and lived amongst the Indians who had been friendly to Fort Caroline.

The life and death of Father Pedro Martinez.

Father Martinez was born in Teruel, Spain in 1533 and studied at the University of Valencia. On 2 October 1553 he joined the Jesuit Order and was ordained to the priesthood in 1558. Father Martinez taught at the Colleges in Granada and Toledo, afterwards he volunteered as a chaplain for the Spanish garrison in Algeria. In 1560, he taught at College of Salamanca and became rector of the Colleges of Valladolid and Monterrey. In 1565, Father Martinez requested to be sent to the American missions and was appointed by St. Francis Borgia as the Superior of the Florida Missions. On the way to Florida, it is said that he preached to the crew of his ship and that all aboard went to confession. Storms threw Father Martinez’ ship off course and after landing near Jacksonville, he was recognized by a Timucuan tribe that had been allied with the French Hugonots. While still holding his missionary crucifix, Father Martinez was apprehended and beaten to death by clubs. Some speculate that the Timucuans could have been incited by a Huguenot refugee who wa sliving among the tribe. St. Francis Borgia mourned Father Martinez’ death, and Pedro Menendez commented that Father Martinez alone could have done more good in Florida than all his soldiers put together. In the following years, over eight more Jesuits would be killed in Florida missions, mostly in the area of Chesapeake bay Virginia. This forced St. Francis Borgia to recall all his Jesuits from Florida in 1571 and relinquish the Florida missions to the Franciscans.

Odd modern obsession with the idols of those who killed father Martinez.

The tribe that killed Father Martinez was the Tacatucuru, a Mocama people, a costal branch of the Timucuan nation. The Timucuan tribes were recorded to have been a deeply pagan people. The Timuucans reportedly practiced sodomy, human sacrifice, child sacrifice, and had a class of androgynous servants. Unfortunately, these tribes are celebrated today by certain groups who want to normalize the behavior of those poor barbarians. We know all of this, thanks to two primary sources. The first, and most credible, the manuals for missionaries coming to Florida and the catechisms that were wrote by them for the Timucuans. The second source is found among accounts from the Hugonauts, who illegally attempted to annex Florida from Spain. The Timucucans however, should not be remembered for their idolatry and degenerate behaviors but for their deeply Catholic faith. Not long after Father Martinez would be killed by Timucuan warriors, the people as a whole would experience a mass conversion to Catholicism. The very tribe that killed Father Martinez would become Mission San Pedro de Mocama in 1587, through the labors of the Franciscan missionaries and undiublty through the sacrifice of the earlier Jesuit martyrs. The mission and island (Cumberland) being dedicated to San Pedro (St. Peter) may be a nod to Father Pedro Martinez’s religious name. About 100 years later these Mocama Indians would be driven out by the British in 1687. The last of the Timucuans would be killed or enslaved by the British or flee to with the Spanish to Cuba, Veracruz, or to the Everglades to be absorbed into a larger tribes. Today the Timucuans are gone, and despite their mass conversion to Catholicism, they are often remembered for their degenerate and pagan past. Imagine ignoring the epistles and works of St. Paul, only to build monuments and write stories of him as a persecutor of the Church.

The Timucuans built most of the Mission churches in northeast Florida, including Mission Nombre de Dios and the chapel of Our Lady de la Leche. They were her first devotees in Florida and later died defending her shrine against the Protestant British. There are even accounts of Timucuans being tortured to death by the British rather than give up the Catholic faith. Most notable is the story of the Timucuan Martyr, Marianna, who prayed the rosary while being burned at the stake and witnessed her son being tortured to death by the British. She was told if she would renounce the Catholic religion, her son would be spared, and her response was to encourage to persevere in the faith through the rosary.

Yet, like the other Catholics Indians of Florida, so little is dedicated to their Catholicity. Instead they are paraded around for sins from before their conversion and no one was as interested in the pre-Christian Timucuans as John D. Rockefeller. With two of his estates being built near Timucuans mounds. His Florida estate, the Casents in Ormond Beach, being built almost directly across the Ormond Indian burial Mound. Then the other one of his estates being called Indian Mound cottage on Jeykle island, Georgia. The connections between the pre-Christian Timucuans and the Rockefellers  can start with their involvement with the so called LGBT movement, with the elitist  Rockefeller family spearheading the movement. Despite trying to seem like a conservative Christian family, there is evidence to show that the Rockefellers have always been in support of the LGBT movement and lifestyle. Their support of the LGBT movement, and feminist movements, goes back as early as 1913, with the appointment of members of the Heterodoxy, a feminist society that contained and supported Homosexuality and genderless people in public life. The Rockefeller also notably donate to LGBT organizations that are in the most conservative areas, like the Trans Empowerment Project, a nonprofit who aids in providing monetary support for those who want  Hormone Replacement Therapy support. This group is rooted in Tennessee and North Carolina. Much like the pre- Christian Timucuans who not only embraced such lifestyles, but forced a class of people into being an androgynous servant class. of people being forced into gender less ness  and being servants and cannon fodder seems like a dream to our modern day elites. Secondly, it should be a surprise to nobody that is to move ones. Let’s tribes also practiced human sacrifice upon their enemies, and upon their own children here yet again we see a connection to the Rockefellers, and most modern elites who have shrine abortion as more than our rights, but some even call it a sacrament. The ones at their idols, but it really makes one think what god would call would call abortion sacrament. One organization that claims abortion is “sacred” and a sacrament is Planned Parenthood. According to Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Rockefeller have supported Margaret Sanger’s Planned Parenthood since the beginning. This so called “sacred” act of a mother killing her child was condemned by God and His divine law from the very beginning. “Thou shalt not give any of thy seed to be consecrated to the idol Moloch, nor defile the name of thy God: I am the Lord” (Leviticus 18:21).

With the next verse condemning sodomy. Then again the Lord condemns this sacrifice of children: “For they have done to their gods all the abominations which the Lord abhorreth, offering their sons and daughters, and burning them with fire” (Deuteronomy 12:31). The hundreds of years later, the Lord again condemns this practice: “Because they have forsaken me, and have profaned this place: and have sacrificed therein to strange gods… they have filled this place with the blood of innocents. And they have built the high places of Baalim, to burn their children with fire for a holocaust to Baalim: which I did not command, nor speak of, neither did it once come into My mind” (Jeremiah 19:4-5). These clear condemnations from God bring us back to Florida before it was Christened. Buried deep in the mud of Hontoon island was an old, forgotten idol, one that was discovered in 1955. A totem pole representing an owl, which was considered a “protector of shaman” and likely used in ceremonies by the Mayaca and Timucuans. Many have mentioned how similar this owl-idol looks like the Owl Shrine at the Bohemian Grove. The link between secrete societies and owls,  with the owl seen at Jeffery Epistien island being the masters addition, has intended speculations of Moloch worship. Rockefeller’s reported favorite poem went like this: “A wise old Owl, Sat on an oak.

The more he saw, The less he spoke.

The less he spoke, The more he heard. Why can't we be Like that wise old bird?”

Now Is there some greater conspiracy at hand?  Well one fact remains certain, the enemies of God truly have nothing new under the sun. It seems like the cults and societies, the enemies of humanity, working against God and His Church, have always enshrined child sacrifice, promoted sodomy, and attempted to obscure gender in society. Like St. Francis Borgia, and his sons, including Fatger Martinez, we must burn with an apostolic zeal for the kid wood God and the salvation of souls. Following the directions of St. Paul: “Let love be without dissimulation. Hating that which is evil, cleaving to that which is good…Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil by good.” (Romans 12:9,21).
